Help for Hearing Loss in Adults
Hearing aids are the most common way to help adults with many types of hearing loss. Yale Hearing and Balance Center offers the latest in digital hearing aid technology from a variety of manufactures to provide the best individual hearing aid solutions.
Implantable Hearing Aids
Implantable hearing aids are surgically placed behind the ear. Bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) are designed for adults who experience chronic middle ear infections or have a mixed hearing loss or for patients with hearing loss only in one ear.
Cochlear Implants are FDA approved devices available to adults who do not experience benefit from hearing aids. These surgically implanted devices mimic the functions of the human ear for those with moderate to profound hearing loss.
